Throughout my time as a journalist, I have published a wide range of stories on our program’s website. Each year, staffers are expected to complete eight menus and eight beats, and I took pride in consistently meeting and exceeding those expectations through timely, polished web publication. This section showcases my online work across formats and topics and reflects my commitment to digital storytelling and consistency.
Social Media
The majority of ODYSSEY’s engagement with Clarke Central High School students occurs through social media, particularly Instagram. As Social Media Coordinator my sophomore year, I created and collaborated on content designed to inform, engage and grow our audience through stories, trivia, trending topics and videos. This section highlights my role in shaping ODYSSEY’s digital presence and connecting journalism with its student audience.

During the 2024-25 Fall Georgia Scholastic Press Association conference, me and a peer Victoria Garland presented on social media. Our session covered how to use social media, what to use it for and how to create a brand. Presenting is something that provokes a lot of anxiety in me but given that I am confident in my social media skills, delivering this presentation to a huge audience went great.
