Multimedia

Multimedia is an important component of nearly every story published by ODYSSEY Media Group. While much of this work is led by our Digital Editor-in-Chief, I have contributed by creating and incorporating my own multimedia elements when appropriate. This section showcases my experience experimenting with visual and digital storytelling to enhance written reporting.

This multimedia package profiles the 1985 football team on the 40-year anniversary of their state championship. I created a comprehensive story and for the package, incorporated multiple multimedia elements, including a timeline, audio components and interactive visuals, to bring the team’s legacy to life. The project required extensive planning to ensure each element worked cohesively and enhanced the narrative rather than distracting from it.

This multimedia package examines caffeine consumption among high school students and the unhealthy consequences associated with overuse. For this story, I worked with a team of staffers to conduct interviews, gathered a-roll clips and create interactive infographics to support the digital storytelling.

Left: This is a timeline I created for a blog I wrote about starting a BBYO chapter in Athens. The timeline shows the events my chapter has held throughout the year and what we have been up to. This timeline added depth to the story by showing how starting this chapter has actually had an impact on Jewish teens in Athens.

Below: This is a story map I made for a story I wrote in 2024 about eighth grade students playing for the CCHS JV sports teams. One issue brought up in the story is the difference in distance to get to cchs from one feeder school compared to the other. To make this more understandable and impactful for readers, I created this map explaining the distances.
