posts
As Social Media Coordinator, I oversaw the consistent publication of high-quality content across ODYSSEY Media Group’s Instagram accounts. I prioritized maintaining a strong posting schedule with at least one post per day, and often two to three, to keep our audience engaged and informed. While the full scope of our content is too extensive to include here, the examples below highlight some of our most common and successful post types and reflect my focus on both quantity and quality in digital journalism.
Breaking news
A big thing we post on social media is breaking news because a lot of our audience is on social media so it’s important to post any schedule changes or updates on our social media platforms.
Sports
We post a lot of game day and score cards to cover our sports. It is very important to post about the wide variety of sports and not just those that are more popular. It’s especially important to highlight home games to encourage students to attend.
To ensure we’re covering all of CCHS and important thing is to post everyday life which could be students preparing for exams, explaining their hobbies, preparing for events such as dances, prep rallies and other activities.
To promote stories published to our website we do two things: 1) we post on our IG story, every article posted to our website gets its link posted to the story and 2) for bigger stories we make a whole post that leaves a cliff hanger to make people want to click and read.
